L to R: Blake Roman (Angel Dust), Kimiko Glenn (Nifty), and Amir Talai (Alastor) from Hazbin Hotel

NYCC 2025 | Hazbin Hotel Cast Teases Deeper Character Journeys and Unbreakable Bonds Ahead of Season 2

As excitement continues to build for the highly anticipated second season of Hazbin Hotel” on Prime Video, Temple of Geek sat down with three members of the main cast at New York Comic Con 2025: Amir Talai (Alastor), Kimiko Glenn (Nifty), and Blake Roman (Angel Dust). While plot details for the upcoming season remain shrouded in secrecy, the actors gave some insights into their characters’ evolving journeys, the unexpected depth of the show, and the unbreakable chemistry that drives the hit animated musical.

Immediate Chemistry and the “Prism” of Fandom

The behind-the-scenes love between the “Hazbin Hotel” cast is legendary, according to the actors. A bond was almost immediate when the group came together for Season 1. “We were cool with each other from like day two, like it’s really kind of magical,” Roman said, with Talai and Glenn quickly agreeing. Talai took an introspective approach to describing the effortless camaraderie between the cast, citing the nature of their industry. “Voiceover people are just chill as hell,” said Talai. He further explained that the cast’s shared background as “theater kids” played a part, as they are all used to getting close quickly for long rehearsals and daily shows.

This deep personal connection played a significant role in helping the actors manage the emotional weight behind each of their characters. Roman shared how Angel’s deep, sometimes painful, journey affects him on a personal level, adding to the connection between the actor and the role. Roman attributed this emotional depth to talking with creator Vivienne Medrano about the story and arcs.

Fans As a Driving Factor to the Creative Process

The dedication to honoring the depth of their characters while keeping the same level of energy from the first season promises a second season that is not only hilarious and larger-than-life, but also rich with the emotional journeys that have made “Hazbin Hotel” a global phenomenon.

“I think what’s taught me even more is going to and doing conventions and talking to fans and seeing what it means to them.” -Blake Roman

However, the most impactful experience for all three actors was not in the recording studio. It was interacting with fans at conventions like NYCC that changed it all. “I think what’s taught me even more is going to and doing conventions and talking to fans and seeing what it means to them,” Roman said. Roman explained the fan experience by describing every audience member as a “prism” that the art travels through, saying, “it just makes the whole story feel so much richer and bigger.” This renewed sense of purpose, fueled by fan connection, is what the cast is channeling into the production of Season 2, ensuring it will be just as fantastic as Season 1.

Alastor’s Audio Obsession

The discussion also took an amusing turn, specifically when discussing the Radio Demon, Alastor, with Amir Talai.

Jenna Wrenn for Temple of Geek: “Do you think Alastor would be […] into podcasting? Would he be really into it, or would it be too techy for him?”

Talai: I think that there’s a world in which he would do an audio version of Twitch streaming. He would have his radio broadcast in the evening. But then, as soon as the broadcast was over, he would pull up the audio mic and […] his entire life would just be live-streamed over audio because he believes that people need to be aware of him.

Until Alastor’s 24/7 audio livestream comes to fruition, you can get more of the Radio Demon, Angel, and Nifty in Season 2 of “Hazbin Hotel,” premiering on October 29. Season 1 is currently streaming on Prime Video.
