Pottery Barn Teen and Marvel collaborated on Black Panther collection

Pottery Barn Teen and Marvel have collaborated to create an authentic Black Panther collection inspired by Black Panther vintage artwork, comic books, and elements from the 2018 record-breaking and Oscar-award-winning film, Black Panther.

Black Panther  Teen Collection

Black Panther is the first superhero of African descent in mainstream American comics dating back to 1966 and made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Captain America: Civil War (2016). In 2018, Marvel Studios released Black Panther which instantly became a box office sensation and is the only superhero film to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture. Black Panther was recently rereleased on Disney+, and the highly-anticipated sequel is scheduled for release in 2022.

The Black Panther collection pays tribute to this through design details including regal hand-drawn illustrations and gold metallic printing on the sheet set. Throughout the 14-piece bedroom collection, which features bedding, lighting, wall décor, and decorative accessories, you feel the regal and tech-savvy design aesthetic that is true to Wakanda and the Black Panther.

The sheet set features a unique tribal design, inspired by Marvel prints and symbolic of the five tribes of Wakanda, as well as regal, gold metallic detailing. In addition to Black Panther’s portrait, the sheet set also features imagery of Shuri, his sister who helped develop the technology in Wakanda, and Okoye, the female warrior leader of Wakanda security.

The collection has tech woven into the assortment as Wakanda is the most technologically-advanced nation in the Marvel Universe. They have added glow elements to a majority of the collection as a nod to “vibranium”, a fictitious powerful metal mined only in Wakanda that has the extraordinary ability to release large amounts of energy. This glow-in-the-dark, backlit detail can be seen throughout the collection including, but not limited to, the following pieces. The collection also includes a mural assortment that directly reflects vintage Black Panther artwork.
