Who should buy the new consoles?
Amanda – Obviously, gamers who have around $600 bucks of disposable income. Between the console and some games, that will probably be enough. If you have it, who am I to fault you? Second, people who have 4k or better TV already. Without a 4k TV, I don’t see how you’ll enjoy much in the way of improvements with a new console. Collectors. If you gotta catch em all, fine then. If you’ve had every Xbox or every PS, then why not?
Stacy – I agree completely with Amanda; no 4K TV = not really a necessity. That, and the respective launch titles of each consoles are the big selling points, and in my opinion, these two consoles are not equaled when it comes to launching titles and exclusives. Halo not available for Xbox will hurt…PS5 all the way baby!
WHAT THE REBELS ARE PLAYING
Amanda – “I downloaded the free-to-play DC Online. I remember playing the beta of this almost 20 years ago on PC. It was really hyped back then, and I got myself too excited for what is a 20-year-old game… it’s not that easy to control an MMO on a console, first off. The menus are often not designed for it and there’s way too much text. The graphics are meh. The voice acting was grating. I don’t know what I was expecting, but I didn’t really enjoy it at all after character creation. Unless you’ve got nothing else to play… I’d give it a miss.”

Stacy – “About 50+ hours into Ghosts of Tsushima and I’m just now in Act II. Definitely in the GoTY discussion. I also played a lot more Orwell on Steam, just to give myself a little existential terror and dread as we head into the tech-pocalypse. ‘
GAMING NEWS
Apple Pulls ‘Fortnite’ From App Store Over Epic Games ‘Violating’ In-App Payments Rule https://t.co/8idyCjSYtR

Apple vs Google vs Epic – Apple and Google took Fortnite off their stores due to 30% fees. Epic retaliates with lawsuits and a pretty ‘epic’ 1984 parody of the classic Apple commercial. We’ll discuss what this means and if it’s as big of a deal as Epic is making it out to be. Reminder, that just last week, Apple denied Microsoft placement on their app store for their streaming product.
Cyberpunk 2077 2nd Episode – The origin stories! Yesssss. Amanda’s going to be corpo, Stacey is leaning towards a nomad. What are you gonna play as?
4k PS5 Drama – It’s been causing a ruckus online, but the rumors that PS5 struggles to render native 4k is a bit misleading. As this writer understands it, devs are simply getting used to the technology and there are a few hiccups here and there designing for it, but plenty of games already designed for the platform DO run in native 4k. So don’t worry.
Total War Saga: Troy gets 7.5m downloads in 24 hours on Epic Games store release. This turn-based strategy game boasts improved graphics and is the sequel to Thrones of Brittania by Sega. It got so many downloads because it was free, but only for a day.
