S.G. Blaise’s Mythical Hunters Review

S.G. Blaise’s Mythical Hunter‘s first issue has been released at San Diego Comic-Con! S.G. Blaise’s newest adventure is in the form of a comic book. It takes place in the same seven galaxies as The Last Lumenian series with completely different characters and stories.

What to expect from Mythical Hunters

The first issue, A New Beginning, features stunning art and a compelling story. The comic features more dialogue than one normally expects from a comic book and quite frankly it is a refreshing change. S.G.’s skill is words, and she managed to still use that in a medium that centers pictures is incredible. It’s never too much either, the dialogue and storytelling only enhance the visuals on the page.

The story immediately brings our two main characters together, and we are instantly drawn into their minds. Arran and Seona seem intrigued by each other at first until we discover that Arran is there to capture Seona. However, they end up bonding, at least tentatively. S.G.’s world-building is so incredible that it’s a privilege to see it come to life in a visual format. Even if you have never read The Last Lumenian series, Mythical Hunters does an incredible job of giving you a sense of the world and how the politics and magical elements work.

S.G. Blaise Shows off a copy of “Mythical Hunters” at her booth at San Diego Comic-Con on July 24th, 2024.

The two main characters decide to team up, somewhat temporarily, and essentially become bounty hunters. The story is exceptionally well-paced, leaving you wanting more with every panel. Each of the main characters has a lot of personal depth to uncover, and we only get a glimpse of it in this first issue. S.G. Blaise’s Mythical Hunters is an amazing addition to any comic book collection, but if you’ve read The Last Lumenian series, then it is an absolute must-read.
