SaGa Frontier Remastered is now on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation4

Announced today from Square Enix, SaGa Frontier™ Remastered, the HD remaster of the beloved JRPG classic SaGa Frontier, is now available worldwide on the Nintendo Switch™ system, the PlayStation4 Computer Entertainment System, STEAM, and iOS and Android mobile devices.

SaGa Frontier Remastered is part of the ongoing SaGa franchise from SQUARE ENIX that so far includes Western releases of Romancing SaGa™ 2, Romancing SaGa™ 3, SaGa SCARLET GRACE: AMBITIONS, and Romancing SaGa Re;univerSe™. SaGa Frontier Remastered now includes beautifully remastered graphics, newly added scenario content starring fan-favorite Fuse as the new eighth playable character, and all-new character events. Seasoned veterans and newcomers will enjoy new improvements and additions that were not featured in the original version when released in 1998. Other game feature updates include double and triple speed boosts, New Game+ Mode, a newly redesigned UI, a story chart feature, and autosave.

SaGa Frontier Remastered builds upon the original cult classic’s multiple storylines by introducing previously cut content, including Fuse’s main scenario and several new events for fan-favorite character Asellus. While playing, players will experience this role-playing adventure as one of eight heroes via the Free-Form Scenario System, with each character engaging in their own storyline and goals, exploring the sci-fi fantasy universe known as “The Regions.” Players will be able to experience the game in different and exciting ways based on their choices, all while discovering unique worlds, technology, and magic.

Developed and overseen by SaGa Series General Director Akitoshi Kawazu and Producer Hiroyuki Miura, with art by Tomomi Kobayashi and music composed by Kenji Ito, seasoned veterans and newcomers alike can enjoy a host of exciting new improvements and additions that were not featured in the original version when released in 1998.

“I am incredibly excited and proud to give new life to SaGa Frontier and to bring new additional features, Fuse’s character, and more to the remastered version–something the team and I wanted to do for the original but were unable to at the time,” said Kawazu. “As someone who worked as part of the original development team, I cannot wait for Western players and a new generation of SaGa fans to immerse themselves in the world and story, and experience the latest release from the SaGa series!”

The game is now available for purchase digitally for $24.99 and is rated T (Teen) by the ESRB. For more information, please visit https://square-enix-games.com/en_US/games/saga-frontier-remastered.
