Star Wars collaborates with Gigi Burris for a unique couture collection

Star Wars x Gigi Burris have come together for a very unique and high-end collaboration. The collection features a six-piece limited edition unisex collection inspired by the original Star Wars trilogy.

When it came to the development of this collaboration, Burris took cues from the wise and beloved Yoda: “Do. Or do not. There is no try.”. Thoughtful materials and supporting local New York City production are at the forefront of this capsule collection as it has been in every past collection for the brand. According to the Gigi Burris website, each piece is manufactured by hand locally in New York City. Hats are created using the centuries-old technique of hand blocking on wooden blocks. Her couture featherwork employs intricate millinery treatments, flowers are handmade by a floral atelier, and each crystal is individually placed.

Gigi was honored as one of Forbes 30 under 30 Art and Style List in 2013 and was a CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund Finalist in 2014. Icons like Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Bella Hadid, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Madonna are counted among her fans.

BANDOLIER BAND

A signature Gigi Burris silhouette reimagined in the spirit of the infamous Darth Vader™. The ‘Darth Vader™ Sharina’ is hand blocked into a pinch crown with a defining cuff. Each piece has the addition of a hand-sewn patent leather trim and black enameled hardware, both of which draw inspiration from his iconic helmet. Textural wool felt is in contrast with the sleekness of the trim and embellishment. A vintage Star Wars logo is printed in repeat on a silk damask interior sweatband.
