Temple of Geek Chic: Hoodies Feature Art Inspired by D&D, CSGO

If you’re a fan of D&D or Counter-Strike: Global Offensive looking to make a bold fashion statement while rocking some wild, original art, then For Fans By Fans has got you covered.

The brand, which sells officially licensed merchandise designed by fans, is featuring a pair of visually striking hoodies by illustrator and graphic designer BADDROCK.

BADDROCK, aka artist Brock Hofer, is the creator of some of the most popular weapon skin designs in CSGO, the multi-player, first-person shooter from game maker Valve.

Hofer has also created fan art inspired by Doom and other video games. They have also designed t-shirts for the death metal band The Black Dahlia Murder. For Fans By Fans carries other designs by the artist as well, including hoodies, t-shirts, tank tops, wallets, bags, stickers, and art prints.

We recruited a couple of geeks — DocintheBox and Dungeons & Dragons enthusiast Dylan Fisher — to model BADDROCK’s exclusive, wearable artwork.

Dungeons & Dragons Beholder Hoodie

BADDROCK brings the classic, fanged, multi-eyed beast of D&D lore to visceral, terrifying life with this design. It features intricate, detailed monster anatomy.

What we love about it: The eye-popping yellow, red, and purple, and three-dimensional effect on this hoodie makes it especially striking and memorable. You may find yourself cowering unconsciously in anticipation of a blast from the Beholder’s eye rays.

Dylan was excited about wearing the Beholder hoodie to his D&D game the night of the photo shoot and insisted on wearing it home.

“The Beholder jacket was an awesome design,” he said. “Good body room, sleeves a little tight, but not too tight.”

CSGO Hyper Beast Zip Hoodie

CSGO fans will recognize the veined, sinewy, fanged demon splattered across this hoodie as exclusive artwork from the famous Hyper Beast weapon skin BADDROCK designed for the video game.

What we love about it: This wolf-like creation has the feel of ornate, nightmare-inspired street art. When you’re wearing this bright, psychedelically colorful design, you are going to get noticed.

Model DocintheBox loved the way this hoodie is designed. He was impressed by the attention to detail and the way the artwork continues onto the lining of the jacket and hood.

Overall:

These hoodies are lightweight and well-made with a soft, comfy lining. They’re a “slim fit” style, which means you should size up if you prefer a looser fit. Our models both tried a size Large and said the jackets were tight fitting in the shoulders and chest, but eventually loosened up with wear. In all other aspects, they are true to size.

Other things we appreciate about these hoodies: They have nice pockets and ribbed cuffs and hem that make for a clean, well-cut look. Also, they are emblazoned with fun, official logo labels on the cuffs. There is also a cool-looking mock mesh pattern inside the hoods. To get the full effect of the stunning art, you’ll want to wear these jackets fully zipped.

BADDROCK’s DayGlo-colored designs are truly the stuff of nightmares but in a fun way. The designs may not be kid-friendly, but they’re unlike anything you’ve worn before. If you’re looking to stand out from the crowd, then these are the hoodies you want. They’d be perfect as con wear or an easy casual cosplay/Halloween costume.

If you’re looking to impress your DM or CSGO clan, put BADDROCK’s surreal and unforgettable artwork on your body and enjoy the attention.
