Bridgerton Season 2

Netflix’s Bridgerton returned for a second season on March 25th. The show’s first season was a bit of an overnight success. The series follows the eight close-knit siblings from the high society Bridgerton family as they try to find love. Now in its second season, the series explores themes of unresolved trauma and how it can stand in the way of finding that love.  The show is based on Julia Quinn’s best-selling series of novels.

New to season 2 was Charithra Chandran who plays Edwina Sharma. Edwina has been taught by her older sister Kate to be the perfect debutante. She’s kind-natured and endlessly endearing. But while she may be young and naive, she also knows what she wants: a true love match. Shelley Conn plays Mary Sharma. An Earl’s daughter whose marriage to a tradesman once embroiled her family in scandal, Lady Mary has now returned to London with her own daughters and is forced to endure the scrutiny of the ton yet again. Calam Lynch will play Theo Sharpe. Theo is a hardworking printer’s assistant. But he’s not just a working-class man, he’s also an intellectual who fights for the rights of all. Rupert Young will play Jack. Jack is the newest member of the ton with a connection to one of its most notable families.

This episode’s guests

Maria Akhtar is a medical student that loves to overthink and overanalyze tv shows a little too much and now has a TikTok dedicated to just that. Already a fan of many realms and universes, including Harry Potter, MCU, DCU, and Game of Thrones but on a mission to infiltrate the rest of the fandoms as well, ahem Star wars; while also being a huge film enthusiast. If Abed Nadir had a little sister, she would still be cooler than me but I would definitely be her best friend.
