In This Episode
The Inevitables is an art and music project spearheaded by multi-faceted creator Vinnie Fiorello (founder of Less Than Jake, Paper & Plastick). Combining a 22-page comic and a full album soundtrack featuring ska legends, the story is about a group of Floridian nobodies who have 40 days to stop the end of the world. In only two days, the project reached its first goal of $20,000 on Kickstarter.
From just an idea to an album, then from an album to building a whole world, The Inevitables started in the minds of Vinnie Fiorello and Obi Fernandez. To complete the music component, the duo called their friend Alex Stern of Big D and the Kids Table to complete the trifecta of songwriting. To complete the comic and world-building, comic writer Jono Diener was brought into the fray. Over the following months, the music and art component continued to be fleshed out until it became the monster it is today.
The Team behind the comic are artist Liana Kangas (TKO, Vault, 2000 AD, Black Mask, Image), Writer Jono Diener (The Swellers, Baggage, No Trigger), Designer Devin Watson, Letterer Cardinal Rae (Marvel, Image, ComiXology), Layout Artist Fabian Lelay (We Are The Danger, Jade Street Protection Services), Creator Vinnie Fiorello (Less Than Jake, Paper & Plastick), and Creator Obi Fernandez (Westbound Train, Meen Machine).
Behind the album, you have a creative team that includes Vinnie Fiorello (Less Than Jake, Paper & Plastick), Obi Fernandez (Westbound Train, Meen Machine), Alex Stern (Big D and the Kids Table, Westbound Train), Jono Diener (The Swellers, Baggage, No Trigger), Matt Appleton (Reel Big Fish), Billy Kottage (The Interrupters), John DeDomenici (Jeff Rosenstock Band, Bomb the Music Industry), Jon Degan (Big D and the Kids Table), and Sean Paul Pillsworth (Nightmare for a Week).
Although the Kickstarter campaign ends September 4, 2020, The Inevitables is only just beginning.
