About The Expanse
The Amazon Original series The Expanse has come to an end. The final episode aired on January 14th, 2022 exclusively on Prime Video.
The Expanse is a science fiction television series set in a distant future where humans have now colonized the solar system. The governments of Earth, Mars and the Asteroid Belt are locked in long-standing conflict. The crew of the Rocinante stumbles on a vast conspiracy and a mysterious alien technology that threatens to upend the balance of power and the fate of humanity. The sixth and final season is a fitting end to this beloved sci-fi show. And although we would have been happy to see it go on for many more seasons, it delivers on its season one promise of telling the story of what leads to the solar system at war. Everything in the series has led us to Marco Inaros and his Free Navy’s devastating asteroid attacks on Earth and Mars.
The series stars Steven Strait, Dominique Tipper, Wes Chatham, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Cara Gee, Frankie Adams, Keon Alexander, Nadine Nicole, and Jasai Chase Owens.
The Expanse is a realistic sci-fi adventure and it tells a believable story of what may happen as humanity broadens out into the solar system. And even though this story is set in the future, it mirrors many of the pressing issues of today. Keeping the show’s conflict grounded in realism.
The Expanse is based on the science fiction novels by James S.A. Corey, and was developed and scripted by the Academy Award-nominated writing duo, Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby. The Executive Producers are Naren Shankar, Andrew Kosove, Broderick Johnson, Laura Lancaster, Sharon Hall, Sean Daniel, Jason Brown, Daniel Abraham, Ty Franck, and Dan Nowak.
