Doctor Who
The first episode of Doctor Who was aired on 23 November 1963. The cover of the Radio Times that week announced “a new Saturday afternoon television series of adventures in time and space”. The series ran until 1989, with a television film in 1996. It returned in 2005 and recently wrapped up its most recent season in 2024.
Within that time there have been thirteen different incarnations of “The Doctor”. The new episodes of Doctor Who will return to screens in November 2023 to coincide with the 60th anniversary and will premiere exclusively on the BBC for the UK and Ireland. David Tennant will play the Fourteenth Doctor for three specials before Ncuti Gatwa takes over the role of the Fifteenth Doctor over the festive season.
