The “Black Widow” film and what it means for the MCU

In this episode of the Temple of Geek Podcast, we are discussing the “Black Widow” film and what the events from the film mean for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). We break down the events in the film, the crossover information to the Disney+ television shows, whether or not this film is a good entry point into the MCU and what we hope to see as we move into the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Black Widow Film

Black Widow is the first film in Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will launch simultaneously in theatres and on Disney+ with Premier Access on July 9, 2021.

We have had a decade worth of Marvel films and television series. But this is the first time since her Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) appearance in Iron Man 2 that we will see her in a titular role. Scarlett Johansson reprises her role as Black Widow with Florence Pugh as Yelena, David Harbour as The Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz as Melina.
