The official trailer for Netflix’s of The School For Good and Evil was released just last week on September 13th.
The film—which will arrive on October 19th—is based on Soman Chainani’s book series of the same name. It follows Agatha and Sophie, the former being dark and gloomy and the latter being bright and cheerful. The best friends are taken from their village in the Woods Beyond and dropped into The School for Good and Evil. There, they find their destinies are reversed. They must learn to navigate their new roles and find out where they truly beyond in a world of fairy tales.
The trailer, which Chainani shared on his Twitter, sets the mood for the film. There are several gorgeous shots of the twin castles where good and evil reside, as well as Sophie and Agatha’s kidnapping and journey to the school. Furthermore, the trailer clearly shows the girls in their new and confusing elements. Dark halls represent Sophie’s school for evil, bright and golden ballrooms represent Agatha’s school of good.
The School For Good and Evil stars Sophia Anne Caruso as Sophie and Sofia Wylie as Agatha. Other cast members include Kerry Washington, Charlize Theron, Laurence Fishburne, and Michelle Yeoh.
Paul Feig serves as the film’s director, while Joe Roth, Jeffrey Kirschenbaum, Jane Startz, and Laura Fischer join him as producers. Feig also produced and wrote the film, alongside David Magee.
