About The Summer Hikaru Died

“The Summer Hikaru Died” is set in a remote mountain village in Japan. The story is set around Yoshiki and Hikaru, two childhood best friends. One day, Hikaru vanishes in the mountains while hiking and later reappears. However, it’s not the real Hikaru, but an entity impersonating him. When Hikaru returns, strange incidents happen in the village.

While the creature retains Hikaru’s feelings and memories, Yoshiki struggles with the fact that his best friend is gone, and tries to accept this new Hikaru.

“The Summer Hikaru Died” will mysteriously appear on Netflix this summer.
