Ventura Toy and Comic Expo (VTCE), a brand-new pop culture expo, has found a home in Ventura, California. The full-day celebration of comic books, action figures, toy collecting, fandom memorabilia, and more will take place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Sunday, May 3rd, 2020. Voice acting royalty Jim Cummings, best known as the voice of Winnie the Pooh, Darkwing Duck, and so many, many more have been announced as the show’s first celebrity guest.
Taking over the lower level of the stunning, beachside Crown Plaza Hotel, Ventura Toy and Comic Expo will have no shortage of activities and family fun! Striving to be the fullest pop culture event in Ventura, VTCE will boast a full panel room with all-day programming, a game room for tabletop enthusiasts and CCG card gamers to socialize and play, a kid’s activity area, photo ops and social area, a full Artist’s Alley, and a Vendor Hall with tons of shopping and celebrity guests. The day will culminate with a Cosplay Contest, so attendees wear your best costumes!
This event is a joint effort between James Gavsie of the smash-hit podcast Who Would Win Show and Loryn Stone of Troublemakers Services, a group that owns and manages a portfolio of conventions and expos across California. Stone has two more single-day pop culture event in Ventura County, Simi Valley Toy and Comic Fest, and Megabit Game Expo, both at the Grand Vista Hotel. She is also the co-owner of Toon-Con, a single day convention dedicated to cartoon and animation fans in Pasadena, California and pop culture websites Toy Wizards and PopLurker.
