Tim Burton Themed Bar comes to Los Angeles : Beetle House LA

Beetle House LA is in no way associated with Tim Burton or the companies that produce his films. But the owners over at this Tim Burton themed bar definitely know how to pay tribute to him.  If you are a fan of movies like Sweeney Todd, Big Fish, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or Corpse Bride, then this is definitely the place for you. The restaurant is decorated with fan art from many of Tim Burton’s films, while the main feel of the place centers around the movies Beetlejuice and The Nightmare Before Christmas. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by a spooky and elegant purple lit staircase and a sign that says “Come as you are…” that leads you into the bar area. The bar area has the main display of props and art displays. There is comfortable lounging areas for guests to enjoy their drinks. Drinks are cleverly named after Tim Burton films.  You have your choice of drinks like The Beetles juice, Edward’s lemonade, Big Fish Bowl (Super Yummy), This is Halloween and more. As soon as we arrived in the bar area we saw a Jack Skellington and a Sally walking around greeting guests and posing for photos. Many of the guests themselves were seen wearing costumes. Seeing people dressed in Halloween themed costumes added to the ambiance.  Dinner seating is by reservation only. At dinner you are not only treated to a themed menu of food and drinks. But you also get a show with dinner. On this particular night we were treated to a freak show that included fire dancers, sword swallowers and even a bearded lady! Themed characters such as Willy Wonka and cast from the freak show also come by to visit table to table. Pricing for dinner starts at about $40 a person and includes an appetizer, main course and dessert.  Signature cocktails start at about $12 each. Well worth the experience.  This fun idea for a bar originates in New York City and has now opened a second location on Hollywood Blvd in Los Angeles. The bar is located across the street from Scum and Villainy Cantina (A Star Wars themed Bar). Which could make for a very geeky night out.
