What are you Top 5 Favorite Marvel Movies?

Josie Price

5. Spider-man Homecoming: I love this new regeneration of Spider-man. Having Peter Parker actually be a dorky teenager fit in so well.
4. Captain America Civil War: I’m a big fan of the Stucky (Steve and Bucky) bromance.
3. Deadpool: Because no one will ever love Deadpool as much as Ryan Reynolds.
2. Thor Dark World: Because angsty Loki.
1. Guardians of The Galaxy Vol.2: Yondu development for the win.

My favorite Marvel Movies and the reasons I love them always have something to do with being happily surprised by some kind of comedic element. Something fresh that certain characters bring to the movie. It’s hard to narrow down 5. Because Marvel movies have a lot of great comedic moments. But there are 3 movies that always stick out for me.

3. Guardians of The Galaxy because Chris Pratt.
2. Thor because Kat Dennings.
1. Ant-Man because Michael Peña.

Stacy Bishop

5. Spider-man-Homecoming: I was so pleasantly surprised by Spider-man that it had to make the list. I loved Ant-Man quite a bit, but the tone of this Spider-man movie reminded me of high school movies from the 80’s, complete with a musical montage. Extra points for Micheal Keaton as Batman/Birdman/Vulture.
4. Thor: Ragnarok, for so many reason, not the least of which was it was the first Thor to be more than “filler” material. It had a fantastic and original score, and great humor. Thor is a difficult character to adapt to screen, and Marvel/Disney did a great job of embracing the weird!
3. Guardians of the Galaxy II: More Guardians! Another movie in the MCU that could be a standalone film if necessary, but still adds to the overarching plan for the cinematic universe. The best part, was including an emotional B-plot that ends with the death of one of my favorite characters from the series, a death that felt meaningful and had weight to it.
2. Captain America: Civil War: So far, this is the best “Avengers” film in my opinion, pitting the Avengers against themselves. It also adapts one of my favorite Marvel stories (and most relevant political commentaries in recent memory) “Civil War”. Cap is one of my favorite Avengers in the MCU, so I”m probably biased.
1. Guardians of the Galaxy: Great ensemble movie, perfect balance of humor and emotion…This is by far my favorite movie in the MCU. It reminded me so much of Star Wars, my favorite franchise, but created a completely unique space-opera experience. If it wasn’t in the MCU, it would still be one of my favorite movies of all time.

5. Iron Man: It’s great movie it stills holds up today. It started the MCU and Iron Man saved Robert Downey Jr career
4. Avengers: I still get goosebumps watching this movie seeing all of them together saving New York tears of joy
3. Thor Ragnarok: I had so much fun with movie I can’t stop laughing and Taika Waititi is a fantastic director and also want more Korg no I needed more Korg in the MCU
2. Guardians Of The Galaxy: I love this movie!!! Amazing soundtrack, Great Cast, and there’s a talking tree and a raccoon
1. Logan: This movie is magnificent Hugh Jackman, Sir Patrick Stewart and Dafne Keen they all bring tearing jerking performances. And I always get teary-eyed in the end.

5. Avengers – Holy crap, there’s every one of these heroes all on the screen at the same time! And the story was good! It was a delivery on the promise made in Iron Man and was done very well.
Honorable Mention: The Infinity War Movie(s) – Even more heroes and there feels like there will be real consequences. Also, we’ll finally get the payoff of hearing Cap yell “Avengers Assemble!” Honestly, I might roll a tear.

4. Spider-Man: Homecoming – Spider-Man is my favorite hero and as much as I enjoyed the previous Spider-Man movies, this is the one that really had the feel of a Marvel movie and captured Peter’s want and need to do something more, be bigger and better, while still being naive enough to kinda screw it up.

3. Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 1 – I don’t think anyone expected this movie to be as funny, entertaining, and heartwarming as it was. Also badass with a great soundtrack.

2. Captain America: The First Avenger – Really showed that all the brightly colored costumes and characters had a soul.

1. Iron Man – The kickoff of the MCU was just too perfect in tone, look, and feel. RDJ was ready to prove that he had the appeal, as did the entirety of Marvel. And I have yet to get as gobsmacked as I first did seeing Samuel L Jackson drop the name Avengers.
