Women’s clothes needs better pockets and Pocket Couture has a solution

We love it when members of the geek community do big things! Lynne Marie Martens, who you may know from her runway looks for the Her Universe Fashion Show, is launching a new business: Pocket Couture, a clothing alteration company that focuses on providing high-quality pockets.

Pocket Couture

If you aren’t familiar with the pocket issue in the fashion industry, let me break it down for you. Women’s clothes do not have enough pockets. It’s wildly annoying. Many times clothing -like jeans and pants for example- will have fake pockets or pockets too small to be functional.

Lynne tells us that she believes women need pockets — no, deserve pockets. Pockets that are big enough to actually be useful. Lynne has a few solutions for that. Her new business Pocket Couture, a clothing alteration company that focuses on providing high-quality pockets can provide pocket extensions for just $25 and the next pocket level up starts at $40.

You can check out exactly how she achieves this at pop-up events around the Los Angeles area by bringing in your clothing that needs bigger and better pockets. The first event will take place this weekend at Lorien Bridal in Glendale, CA, July 10th, 11:00 am-4:00 pm.
