The 16th Annual Official Star Trek Convention is going on this weekend in Las Vegas, NV. In celebration of that as well as in anticipation of the new Star Trek Discovery television show premiering on September 24th on CBS, we have decided to showcase some of our favorite Star Trek Fan Art from Instagram.

Captain Kirk – I fancied a challenge and the lighting, tones, and especially uniform detail certainly provided. I made a little insignia brush which can be seen on one of the process pics. It's cute! Hand painting them in proved to be a god forsaken nightmare so I edited in the texture before adding colour and values as it's such a precise pattern. Starting off this week with this lil work in progress fanart of Star Trek Discovery! So excited that they have announced the premiere of the show- September 24! On the left is Sonequa Martin-Green who will play first officer Michael Burnham in the starship U.S.S. Shenzhou.
