The episodes reveal more about his personal life, including his ideological differences with his ex-wife, Drea Lawson, who works for the Empire. Lawson finds himself in the precarious position of harboring Jedi, specifically Master Daki and Devon Izara, a situation his son discovers when he finds them chilling at their dining table. A charged interaction between Lawson and casino owner Solrena hints at a deep, possibly romantic or life-saving history that even his son notices.

Maul: The Eponymous Shadow

Interestingly, a minor critique noted by JJ is the lack of screen time for the titular character, Maul. However, this may be a deliberate narrative choice, living up to his title as the “Shadow Lord” by remaining in the background while the ripple effects of his plots force other characters into difficult positions.
