One of the best things about San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) is the massive activations you’ll find there. They give you a moment to step inside and actually be part of your favorite fandoms, and it’s all included with an SDCC badge. And it was recently announced that Disney Entertainment Television (DET) is back at SDCC! Regarded as some of the most popular off-sites at the con, DET will be bringing back their fan-favorite activations with the return of Hulu Animayhem and Disney’s Percy Jackson and The Olympian’s experience.
What truly sets SDCC apart from other conventions is the sheer scale of these activations. For most other cons, space is a major issue. They simply don’t have the massive walkable outdoor areas and parks that San Diego boasts. At those events, most activations are crammed indoors within the exhibit hall, with maybe a few pop-ups in local shops or empty spaces in the surrounding neighborhood. But at SDCC, you have sprawling lawn space stretching from the marina behind the convention center to the parks surrounding it. They simply have the room to give attendees so much more, and it really shows in the incredible activations they build there every year.

Look back at Hulu’s Activations from SDCC 2025!
If you haven’t attended before, here is a look back at what Hulu brought in 2025 to give you an idea of just how big these get. Taking over the Fifth Avenue Landing right behind the convention center, Hulu built “Hank Hill’s Backyard,” a massive, immersive recreation of Arlen, Texas.
