Where better to hold a Spider-Man World Record attempt than NYCC 2026? Celebrating the web-head that has long called New York City his home, attendees on Thursday of New York Comic Con 2026 are being invited to take part in an attempt to break the record of the largest gathering of people dressed as Spider-Man.
Marvel and Disney Consumer Products are partnering with Jazwares for this official Guinness World Records attempt. Want to be part of Spidey history? Read on to find out how.
Preparing for the World Record Attempt
NYCC 2026 attendees who wish to participate in the Spider-Man World Record attempt can pre-register at this link. And if you don’t already own a Spider-Man outfit, Jazwares will be at the event to help.
Jazwares, as an official costume partner for Spider-Man, will have Spider-Man costumes to give away to event participants. There will be a range of adult and kid sizes, but numbers are limited and only one per person. Attendees who pre-register at the link can start picking up their costumes on Thursday, October 8th. The Jazwares fan zone booth will be set up on the Javits Center Inner Roadway. For those familiar with NYCC’s layout, this is the roadway just outside of the street-level doors to the Javits- or around the food trucks park during the day. Costume distribution starts at 1pm.

It’s important to note that to count towards the record attempt, participants must be dressed in a suit that mirrors the classic red-and-blue suit. From the event organizers:
“Costumes must represent a complete classic Spider-Man look, including the signature red mask, boots, and red-and-blue suit with web detailing and spider emblem. Alternate suits from officially recognized comics or films are welcome, but all participants must be dressed as Spider-Man.”

If you choose to cosplay as other characters from the Spider-Man stories, you are still welcome to attend. However, these characters would not be considered part of the world record attempt.
