Video gaming has become a multimedia giant in the same vein as the movie industry and the like. With that, many games involve some serious investment in time. What is the longest you have ever spent in a game? The Rebels tackle this and more on this episode.

Intro Music – Final Impasse By Ground is Lava
WHAT THE REBELS ARE PLAYING
Stacy – I logged into games, to say I played them, it’s not cheating don’t judge me! I played a bit of Life is Strange. The music is great, the story is great…I forgot how much I enjoyed this game. I’m at the part with the diner right now, where you’re supposed to arrange events to happen so you can get a gun or something? I’ve not finished it. I also played a little FF4, one of my two favorite games in the whole franchise. I’ve put like 5 hours in, so I’m still close to the beginning, no espers.
Amanda – Call of Duty: Warzone is doing the most, really. There are some bits I’m not too fond of like the Gulag (when you’re out, you should be out), but things I really enjoy like the contracts. I’ve been riskier and enjoying the format more than Fortnite in a lot of ways. It’s free and you can cross-platform party and chat so why not!
GAMING NEWS
Xbox Series X- the new console will upscale many backward compatible games, it’s been said. With some games going up to 120 FPS on the Series X, according to reports by The Verge.
Free on Epic Store: Borderlands, the Handsome Collection is free this week on the Epic games store. That’s good news for fans of the game…hopefully they can keep the servers online though.
HP Reverb- HP is taking a crack at VR and it’s sort of flying under the radar. Preorders are on now for their oculus rift looking kit for $599. Seems steep for an unproven VR player, however.
PlayStation 5 – Is not focusing on backward compatibility for the PS5, they are putting all their gaming into the new releases basket. With a press conference scheduled for this week, hopefully, we’ll see more things about the PS5 that make it worth a heavy pricetag.
Last of Us 2 – They say it’s bigger than any other game they’ve made, but you can tell it’s going to be a continuation of the story with Ellie, but she seems more active. With a jump button and more evade tactics, it’s a different component that we’ve not really seen before.
OUR MOST PLAYED GAMES
Amanda
When I was younger, MMORPGs dominated my life in a big way and for years. Sadly those games are either shut down or the account is no longer valid, so there’s no way for me to accurately report time data. Suffice to say, over a decade-plus of heavy MMO gaming, we’re likely looking at two to three months of solid playtime.
But for this list, I’m gonna focus on what I can accurately measure from Xbox One’s stat system. Unfortunately, that’s gonna restrict it to Xbox One releases with that feature enabled but it’s as accurate as I can be. So, in order from smallest to largest, here are my most played games on Xbone.
Mass Effect: Andromeda – 3days, 3h, 42m
Sims 4 – 6 days, 23h, 49m
Fallout 4 – 7 days, 12h, 24m
Dragon Age: Inquisition – 7 days, 22h, 51m
Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – 8 days, 8h, 23m
Below this, most games I really like but didn’t try to complete, with 2 days of gameplay on average for an open world or multiplayer type game like Destiny, Anthem, Diablo, Gears, and Halo.
Stacy
First, lemme talk about some times that aren’t on this list. Games I’ve invested 46-50 hours in but they don’t touch these tops. Here’s the shortlist: Dark Wizard, which I have on an emulator. God of War, a PS4 exclusive from 2018, I only had 29 hours, but it profounding impacted me on the memorable scale. Persona 5, I only have 8 hours in, but just to beat it is like 110 hours and I know I don’t have time, even though I love it.
Most of my data come from steam:
Disco Elysium – 56 hours
Final Fantasy VII on PlayStation – 61hours
World of Warcraft – Main Alt 26 days, 23 hours, 6 min
World of Warcraft – Main – 87 days, 7 min
