We put together some tips and insight on how to cosplay Emma Stone’s Cruella and get inspired looks. Here you will find makeup tips, where to shop Cruella-inspired fashions and cosplay.
Set in 1970s London amidst the punk rock revolution, “Cruella” follows the life of a young grifter named Estella, who is determined to make a name for herself with her designs. She befriends a pair of young thieves and together they are able to build a life for themselves on the London streets. One day, Estella’s flair for fashion catches the eye of fashion legend Baroness von Hellman. But their relationship sets in motion a course of events and revelations that will cause Estella to embrace her wicked side and become the revenge-bent Cruella. Cruella stars Emma Stone, Emma Thompson, Joel Fry, Paul Walter Hauser, Emily Beecham, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, and Mark Strong. The film debuted on May 28th in theaters and on Disney Plus Premier Access.
Cruella Refrence Photos
One of the first things we need is reference photos from the film. These photos help us to get a feel for what looks we want to put together. The film is all about costumes and fashion so there is plenty to pick from. Cruella/Estella had 47 changes in the film, Baroness had 33 changes, and even Horace and Jasper had 30 costumes each. Academy Award Winner Jenny Beavan (Mad Max: Fury Road, A Room with a View) is the costume designer for the film. The work that went to the film’s costumes was extensive. For example, there were 5060 Petals sown onto Cruella’s car dress and 393 meters of organza fabric used. You can check out this featurette from Disney that takes a closer look at the fashion from the film.

Cosplaying Cruella – Buying
These links are mainly for people who are looking to purchase cosplay. Since the film has just come out, there aren’t a lot of reviews for these items. So buyer beware. It’s hard to see the quality of some of these cosplays when we haven’t seen them worn yet. We will update this section when more cosplayers post photos of these cosplays.
CosDaddy has the largest collection of Cruella Cosplays right now. And they tend to have a favorable reputation among cosplayers.
Other sites that have announced Cruella Cosplays include ACCosplay and Cossky.

Cosplaying Estella
An easy closet cosplay is Estella. Estella wears simple black all-over outfits, square and cat-eye eyeglasses, holds a notepad. This may be something you can pull out of your own closet.
Cruella Inspired Fashion Collections
Temple of Geek’s Maddie put together a video highlighting some of her favorite fashions from the Disney and Her Universe Collaboration.
Rag & Bone and Disney Collaborated on Cruella Limited-edition Collection. These looks aren’t similar to what you see in the film. It is more inspired by the aesthetics and 70s era fashion.
