Oscar Isaac surprised fans during Comic-Con @Home during virtual panel

During the “Legendary Comics 2021 and Beyond!” virtual panel, actor Oscar Isaac surprised fans from the set of his latest television series to introduce the creative team of his upcoming original graphic novel Head Wounds: Sparrow.

Legendary Comics Comic-Con@Home Panel

The most anticipated and highly regarded comic book convention has gone virtual for the second year in a row. During the panel, The Legendary Comics Team, Robert Napton (SVP), Nikita Kannekanti (senior editor), and Jann Jones (director) talked about their exciting upcoming projects. They chatted with the creative teams for Head Wounds: The Sparrow and the upcoming YA GNs–The Heart Hunter and Lupina: Volume 1. There was even a surprise visit from Oscar Isaac.

Head Wounds: Sparrow

The graphic novel, from creator Bob Johnson, with story by John Alvey, and developed by actor Oscar Isaac and Jason Spire, is written by New York Times’ best-selling writer Brian Buccellato and features art by Christian Ward. Head Wounds: Sparrow is about a man named Leo Guidry. Guidry is a bad person and an even worse cop. When he suffers a psychic head wound, his life on the edge slips into spiritual warfare. In a landscape of angels, devils, and everything in between, can a person utterly devoid of empathy find a way to overcome the forces of darkness that have infiltrated his reality? This is the world of Head Wounds: Sparrow.  Head Wounds: Sparrow will be available in bookstores and online retailers in Fall 2021.

Originally announced at last year’s San Diego Comic-Con@Home, fans were treated this year to a special in-depth conversation with panelists Bob Johnson, John Alvey, Jason Spire, Brian Buccellato, and Christian Ward, moderated by Legendary Comics’ SVP Robert Napton. The creative team divulged further details regarding the origin, mythology, and the process behind creating the original supernatural noir graphic novel. Viewers were also given an exclusive first-look tease at the artwork of Head Wounds: Sparrow.
