Geek Chic Fashions: Fun looks for the Fall and Spooky Season

We are well into September and that means it’s time to start planning some of our fall and spooky season looks! We’ve compiled a list of some of the looks that we felt had a little geek chic, a little fun, and a little spooky.

Candy Corn

Unique Vintage always understands the assignment. Their Halloween collections never disappoint. Their Candy Corn inspired designs were absolutely adorable. They were able to bring the color schemes to life without feeling too costume-y. However, the Betsey Johnson sequins candy corn bag is the perfect amount of extra. You can find these items at the links below. You can always try putting together your own candy corn-inspired looks by pairing together orange pants or an orange skirt, a white top, and a yellow cardigan or oversized open-front sweater.

Spiders & Webs

Are we a Unique Vintage stan account now? Maybe, but come on! They just understand how to put together a look. The Velvet Spiderweb Capelet is perfect for turning the little black dress you already have in your closet into something new! Also, it’s not limited to just dresses. We can totally see this in use with blouses, tops, tanks, cosplays, and costumes. The fit and flare dress from Smak Parlour has long angel sleeves and a removable lining. It even comes with a sparking rhinestone spider brooch.

Little Black Dresses

I can never get enough of black dresses. They are perfect for all occasions. During the spooky season, though, it’s fun to add a little flare. Sheer lace has a way of giving black dresses not only elegance, but also gothic and witchy vibes. Black dresses with a peplum skirt or a high-low skirt are perfect for an elevated twist on a classic black dress.

Black Cats and Fall Looks

What is a witch without her black cat? There is something kind of cool about the rockabilly vibes that these designs give off. I don’t know what it is about the vintage aesthetic and the Halloween aesthetic, but the two work really well off one another. Dela Deville’s and Crazy4Me had a pretty great selection of both. The Shein patterned blouse would probably look really cute underneath the cardigan from Mod Cloth.

Monsters

We really fell in love with the collection over at Vintage Galeria. Like we said earlier, the vintage aesthetic and the Halloween aesthetic work really well together. From dancing skeletons to Hollywood monsters, Vintage Galeria had some great Knots Tops, Men’s Western Shirts, and Skirts. While you’re on their site, check out the fun designs on their facemasks, messenger bags, and scarfs. Tag @templeofgeekchic in your photos if you purchase these. We’re dying to see how these look on everyday geeks.

Pumpkins Looks

Give me everything pumpkin, pumpkin spice, pumpkin-colored, and all jack-o-lanterns! I’m ready for it! Is there a pumpkin-a-day fashion challenge? There should be! Jack-o-lanterns don’t get much wear after October 31st, though. Anything with a pumpkin can be worn with pride all fall season.

Spooky Fun Accessories

Easy looks you can try at the office or casually are pairing orange, brown, beige, or black pieces from your closet and adding accessories to complete the look. It’s a quick and cost-efficient way to spice up your wardrobe. Don’t forget to check out your local thrift stores to see what hidden treasures you might find.
