Geekset
Geekset Podcast is the only podcast that blends Hip-Hop Culture & Geek Culture together in one place. It is a podcast that represents an area of Black Culture that doesn’t get talked about or addressed often, The Black Geek. Along with some really great interviews on their show, Geekset is producing content that lives within the Blerd Space. Geekset recently announced in a Forbes Magazine interview that they are crowdsourcing a documentary about Blerd Culture.
This is truly a podcast created for fans of geek culture by fans of geek culture. They are a Black podcast with no backing, no major network push, just an operation of 4 people of color in a world in which they are not necessarily prominent.
The first show is the bi-weekly podcast in which we cover all topics from Anime, Comicbooks, Video Games, Movies, Pop Culture, etc. Their second show is an interview series “1-on-1 w/Deuces” which is IMDb accredited in which Young Deuces of the podcast interviews celebrities such as Jay Ellis (HBO Insecure), Kel Mitchell (All That | Kenan & Kel), Cedric Yarbrough (Reno 9-1-1/The Boondocks), and many many more. Their 3rd show, Geekset Rewind – Is a show in which we go back and watch an anime, movie, or show and give our live reactions at the moment. They have a newer show – Sofrito Papi’s Playhouse which is a review/unboxing show that will focus on Figure’s/Toy’s Reviews, Audio Engineering Tips, and Equipment Reviews. They even have an upcoming show that will focus on Cosplayer’s, their journey of creating, and the output of their costume.
