It’s been a long and arduous road while fans wait for the release of the Gotham Knights video game. However, game developer Warner Brothers Montreal and DC Comics revealed a new trailer during San Diego Comic-Con that features Batgirl (voiced by America Young) in new gameplay and cutscene footage to display more detail and attributes to the game.
Batgirl in new Gotham Knights game
As seen in the trailer, Batgirl, aka, Barbara Gordon, appears in different iterations of the Batgirl costume. This has been a well established popular feature from the previous Batman Arkham Trilogy games, but it’s always nice to see the level of detail involved into making this game. The trailer starts out with Batgirl on her 233 Kustom Batcycle before going into action in the mean streets of Gotham City. It should be noted that players who pre-order the game will have access to that skin, which is designed after its first appearance in “Detective Comics #233.” The next parts of the trailer reveal some of the weapons and abilities that users will be seeing during their gameplay.
Batgirl is a highly trained fighter and expert computer coder and hacker. She brings both brawn and brains to the team of knights. Using her signature weapon, the tonfa, along with a fierce combination of kickboxing, capoeira and jiu-jitsu, Batgirl looks ready and fearless to take on the mean streets of Gotham. Previous media and news of the game have already revealed that the notorious underground organization, known as “The Court of Owls,” will appear as the antagonists of the game. Batgirl, along with the other members of the Bat family, consisting of Nightwing, Robin (Tim Drake), and Red Hood, will comprise the Gotham Knights and take on the evils that plague Gotham City.
Although the game has been delayed from its initial release date in 2021, it is with hope that the delayed release date will give the game developers time to further develop the game’s mechanics, graphics, and even story to enhance the gamer’s experience in the open world RPG fighting game.
