Netflix drops teaser trailer Season 4 of The Umbrella Academy

A teaser trailer for the highly anticipated fourth and final season of Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy dropped late last evening, giving us our first glimpse of what the Hargreeves siblings will be up to in season 4.

The series is based on the comic book series created and written by Gerard Way, illustrated by Gabriel Bá, and published by Dark Horse Comics. The show was created for television by Steve Blackman, who also serves as showrunner. The season 4 cast features returning cast Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya, and Colm Feore. Additionally, joining the cast for the final season are Nick Offerman, Megan Mullally, and David Cross.

The Umbrella Academy Season 4 Trailer

Following a dramatic showdown at the Hotel Oblivion, the Hargreeves siblings find themselves scattered across a reset timeline. Now without their powers, each must navigate a new normal, with varying degrees of success. However, the allure of their unusual new world proves too strong to resist. In this new reality, their father, Reginald, now alive and thriving, has emerged as the head of a powerful and sinister business empire. Simultaneously, a secretive group known as “The Keepers” convenes in secret, convinced that their reality is a fabrication and that a reckoning is imminent. As these enigmatic new forces converge, the Umbrella Academy must reunite one final time to rectify the situation, even if it means jeopardizing the fragile peace they’ve fought so hard to maintain.

The trailer gives us glimpses of the siblings reuniting for a rescue mission, having just acclimated to this newer timeline. The trailer cleverly uses “The Final Countdown,” a song by Swedish rock band Europe, as the trailer’s theme song. Final season, final timelines, final season!

Script Sneak Peek: A Glimpse into The Umbrella Academy Season 4

Fans of The Umbrella Academy are in for a treat! A script page from the Season 4 premiere, titled “The Unbearable Tragedy of Getting What You Want,” offers a glimpse into the upcoming season. The scene introduces Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman as Drs. Jean and Gene Thibedeau, a married couple and community college professors. The peculiar twist? The Thibedeaus are inexplicably willing to shell out $5,000 for a VHS tape of “Love on Loan,” a movie starring Allison Hargreeves. This raises questions about the Thibedeaus’ motivations and their connection to the Umbrella Academy. Are they simply avid collectors of obscure yard sale finds? Or is there a deeper meaning behind their interest in the VHS tape? We’ll have to wait until the season premieres on August 8th to uncover the mystery surrounding this peculiar pair.

Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman, a married couple in real life, have previously portrayed a married couple on screen. In the series “Parks and Recreation,” they played the toxic divorced couple, Ron and Tammy Swanson.

‘The Umbrella Academy’ Adds David Cross to Fourth and Final Season

The trailer teases the Hargreeves siblings embarking on their first mission together. It was previously announced that comedy legend David Cross, known for his role in Arrested Development, will join the cast. Cross will join as Sy Grossman. Sy is a morally upright but reserved business owner and family man, desperate to reunite with his estranged daughter. Could this be the mission that brings the Hargreeves siblings together in the final season?
