San Diego Comic-Con is coming to the San Diego Convention Center once again! From July 25-28, the Gaslamp Quarter will be filled with all things geek. Doctor Who will be landing the TARDIS among the panels, special guests, activations, and more throughout the weekend. Here is everything Doctor Who related that is coming to San Diego Comic-Con.

Official Doctor Who Panels and Activations at San Diego Comic-Con
Disney+ most recently announced that the TARDIS will be landing in Hall H for the Into the Whoniverse: A Doctor Who Panel! On Friday, July 26th at 12:30pm, Doctor Who fans will have the opportunity to join Ncuti Gatwa, who plays the Fifteenth Doctor, Millie Gibson, who plays companion Ruby Sunday, and showrunner and executive producer Russel T. Davies for an incredible panel. Join the three of them as they discuss behind-the-scenes of Season 1 and more! Moderated by Josh Horowitz (host, Happy Sad Confused podcast and MTV), fans won’t want to miss this.
Celebrate the first ever Intergalactic Friendship Day, which falls on July 30th. The Intergalactic Friendship Panel: Star Trek x Doctor Who panel is taking place on Saturday, July 27th at 5:30pm in Room 6A. Doctor Who showrunner and executive producer Russel T. Davies and Star Trek showrunner and executive producer Alex Kurtzman will “come together for an exclusive creator-to-creator conversation about the art of storytelling in alternative universes and to celebrate the power of friendship (doctorwho.tv).” Keisha Hatchett, staff editor of TVLine, will serve as moderator. Also, fans in attendance to the inaugural Intergalactic Friendship Day conversation will receive a special Doctor Who X Star Trek poster designed by artist Dusty Abell.

In addition, fans of both franchises will have the chance to experience how universal friendship truly is. Throughout the weekend, the “Friendship is Universal” Gallery Pop-up will be held at 226 and 230 5th Avenue in the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego. The gallery experience will feature original costumes and props from both Doctor Who and Star Trek from over the years. It will highlight themes of friendship and shared values between the two universes. Furthermore, fans can expect photo opportunities as well as special friendship bracelet giveaways! Fans do not need a badge for this activation. The hours of operation include: Thursday, July 25 through Saturday, July 27 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM, and Sunday July 28 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Friday (7/26) Fan Panels at SDCC That are Related to Doctor Who
The Future of Doctor Who panel is happening at the Grand 10 & 11, Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina on Friday July 26, 2024, from 4:00pm – 5:00pm. Moderator Sandro Monetti (CNN) hosts panelists Sarah Lynn Dawson (Disney+), Cody Gootz (cosplayer), Karen Glover (Time Travelers Utld), Kristi Schoeman (SD Who Con), and River Alexandra Song (Time Travelers Utld). These informed and amusing experts will their insights and opinions on what’s next in Doctor Who. The show is more popular than ever, thanks to its streaming on Disney+. Fans will have the chance to share their opinions along with the panelists in this forum.
Leveraging the Power of Popular Culture to Inspire Social Good is taking place on Friday, July 26th in Room 32AB at 5:00pm. While not directly discussing Doctor Who, this panel brings art, heroism, and social impact together! Attendees will see the debut of Hunger Action Heroes Unite!, an inspiring comic book collaboration between Feeding San Diego and SuperheroIRL. Hear from writer Dr. Janina Scarlet (Superhero Therapy), artist Thom Zahler (Love & Capes, My Little Pony), and Dana Williams (Feeding San Diego) as they share the remarkable story behind this project. Also, they’ll advise on how others can inspire an audience through storytelling.
Furthermore, hear from education consultant Jennifer Harris Edstrom. Edstorm will talk about how teachers can leverage the comic book and additional resources to support instruction in the classroom. Students were invited to submit their vision of a hunger action hero who helps to end hunger through food rescue. Allan Lavigne (Bronze Armory Studios) will share how he brought the winning entries, Hunger Halter and Demeter, to life. Also, meet the incredible heroes in person, portrayed by actors Matthew Munson (Hunger Halter) and Alexa Gerrity (Demeter). They embody the mission of rallying the community, providing food assistance, and rescuing surplus food from going to waste to benefit those in need. SuperheroIRL founding partner Chase Masterson (Star Trek, Doctor Who Big Finish) will moderate.
Fans of The Hillywood Show will not want to miss their panel. On Friday July 26, 2024 at 7:15pm, join the creators, Hilly and Hanna Hindi for The Hillywood Show: Q&A panel in Room 6A. They are known for their parodies based on Supernatural, Doctor Who, Good Omens, and more. Join them for an epic late-night session as they showcase their most popular parodies. Watch your favorites on the big screen, bring your questions, and hear the latest news of what’s next for Hillywood.
San Diego Who Con presents Doctor Who Trivia Night! Head over to Shakespeare Pub to test your knowledge on the series. Trivia night starts at 8:00pm.
Saturday (7/27) Panels
TARDIS Chats: The Doctor Who Podcast Live at Comic-Con panel will take place at the Neil Morgan Auditorium, located in San Diego Central Library. Happening at 10:00 am, the TARDIS team assembles for an extra-special episode of the official Doctor Who Podcast. Ncuti Gatwa (The Doctor), Millie Gibson (Ruby Sunday), and Russell T. Davies (showrunner) offer a debrief chat on the weekend’s happenings. Not only will the discuss season 1, but they’ll also field questions from Doctor Who fans both at San Diego and from around the world. This panel is available as an exclusive drawing entry in the Comic-Con 2024 Exclusives Portal for eligible badged participants located in your Member ID.
The Doctor Who: Science and History panel will happen in Room 6A at 8:30 pm. Join panelists and Order of Gallifrey members Alex Bagosy (archaeologist/historian), Justin Daube (science teacher), and moderator Jennifer Bagosy. They will take fans through some of the real-world science and historical events covered by Doctor Who.
Cosplay Gathering
Join Temple of Geek as we host the Doctor Who cosplay meetup. On Sunday, July 28 at 11:00 am, meet up with fellow Doctor Who fans at San Diego Comic-Con. All cosplayers and photographers are welcome! The meetup will take place at the Convention Center Mezzanine Stairs. This is on the Mezzanine Level, which is the back side of the San Diego Convention Center. Comic-Con Doctor Who Exclusives and Debuts
Titan Comics is showcasing new, SDCC comic exclusives and debuts at this year’s convention. One of their exclusives includes Doctor Who: The Fifteenth Doctor #1 SDCC exclusive Stanley “Artgerm” Lau virgin.
Their debuts include Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor #1 and Doctor Who: The Eleventh Doctor #1 facsimile editions. These mark 10 years of Doctor Who at Titan Comics.
