Season 2 of Netflix’s live-action One Piece is currently filming! Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, revealed to fans which arcs fans can look forward to in the upcoming season.
Live-Action One Piece Season 2 Updates
Season 1 of Netflix’s live-action adaptation took fans roughly through the first 45 episodes of the anime, ending after the “Arlong Park Arc.” Captain Monkey D. Luffy (played by Iñaki Godoy) set sail with his new-found crewmates. At the time of this first season ending, the Straw Hat pirate crew includes Roronoa Zoro (Mackenyu), Nami (Emily Rudd), Usopp (Jacob Gibson), and Sanji (Taz Skyler).
Most of the new cast was announced for the arcs that will be covered in season 2. This includes:
- Daniel Lasker (Raised by Wolves) as Mr. 9
- Camrus Johnson (Batwoman) as Mr. 5
- Jazzara Jaslyn (Warrior) as Miss Valentine
- David Dastmalchian (Late Night with the Devil) as Mr. 3
- Werner Coetser (Getroud met rugby) as Dorry
- Brendan Murray (Raised by Wolves) as Brogy
- Clive Russell (Game of Thrones) as Crocus
- Callum Kerr (Monarch) as Smoker
- Julia Rehwald (Star Wars Young Jedi Adventures) as Tashigi
- Rob Colletti (The Many Saints of Newark) as Wapol
- Ty Keogh (24 Hours To Live) as Dalton
However, there are a few important players who have yet to be announced.
Eiichiro Oda’s Message to Fans about Season 2
According to Eiichiro Oda, there will be new cast announcements coming in the next few days at the time this is written. Oda-Sensei also provided a little something special to fans as they await the new season. In the post, he says, “The story will cover Loguetown, Reverse Mountain (Twin Cape), Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island!” By the end of this season, the show will have carried fans to around episode 91 of the anime.
Oda-Sensei is also well aware of the anticipation surrounding the casting of beloved characters, such as Tony Tony Chopper, Miss All Sunday, and Vivi. He urges everyone to be patient, as great casting and creating takes time! Not only that, but fans also can rejoice in how much time and care the crew is putting into making One Piece season 2 as amazing as the first season (if not even more!).
Series Synopsis
One Piece is a Shounen Jump manga created by Eiichiro Oda that began in 1997 and it still updates weekly. The story follows Monkey D. Luffy and his dream to become King of the Pirates. He takes on a crew of his own, dubbing them the Straw Hat Pirates as they sail the seas in search of the legendary treasure that once belonged to the infamous Pirate Gol D. Roger called the “One Piece.”
