“Who here loves Trigun? Who here loves love and peace?”
That’s how the Trigun: Stargaze panel exploded to life at New York Comic Con (NYCC), immediately turning the Main Stage into a celebration of nostalgia, energy, and pure fan love. The crowd answered back in full force because when Vash the Stampede’s name is mentioned, cheering is basically mandatory.
It’s been more than two years since Trigun Stampede reintroduced Yasuhiro Nightow’s classic space-western with a bold new vision from Studio Orange. Now, Trigun: Stargaze promises to close the saga with high emotion, big action, and yes, a healthy dose of “love and peace.” And NYCC fans were the first in the world to see it.
The Legendary Creators of “Trigun: Stargaze” Take the Stage
Fans erupted as the special guests were introduced: Yasuhiro Nightow, creator of Trigun; Katsuya Nishiyama, director of Stargaze; and Yoshihiro Watanabe, producer from Studio Orange. Each took a moment to greet the crowd, visibly moved by the energy.
“Thank you,” Nightow said with a wide smile. “It’s wonderful to see you all, and I’m honored to share this moment with you.”
Director Nishiyama added, “I’m looking forward to amazing everyone with what we’ve created. It’s great to be here.”
Producer Watanabe, jumping in with his own burst of enthusiasm, shouted, “NYCC, are you feeling good? It’s an honor to bring ‘Trigun: Stargaze’ to you!”
Nightow Reflects on Stampede’s Legacy
When asked how he felt about Stampede’s new direction compared to his manga, Nightow praised the adaptation wholeheartedly.
“As I watched Stampede, I felt it was a show that reached for the stars,” he said. “It captured the heart of Trigun in new ways. I felt the love from the fans—and it’s amazing how we can love the same Vash, yet also embrace a different one.”
From Studio Orange, With Love
Watanabe reflected on the two-year journey since Stampede’s release and how fan support carried the team through it.
“Our staff gave everything they had to make Stampede,” he said. “But it was the fans’ passion that gave that effort meaning. We’ve met so many of you at conventions, and your love keeps this world alive. Thank you.”
He laughed as he recalled spotting Stampede cosplayers before the anime even aired. “The show wasn’t out yet! How did you get this information?” he joked, earning cheers.
Exclusive Reveals
Then came the moment everyone was waiting for: a brand-new trailer for Trigun: Stargaze. The hall filled with gasps, applause, and a few emotional sighs.
The highlight? The long-awaited return of Milly Thompson.
“The moment she appeared, everyone went, ‘Ohhh!’” the host laughed. “You could feel the whole room smiling.”
Two new key visuals were also unveiled, including one of Vash’s new crew in stylish blue outfits. And yes—Wolfwood still refuses to change clothes. “That dude does not believe in laundry day,” the host joked, to which the crowd completely agreed.
Producer Watanabe shared how Milly fits into this new arc:
“In this timeline, Meryl has grown in her career and is now partnered with Milly. She’s still the bright, optimistic character who brings warmth to every scene,” he explained. “Even when things get dark, she keeps everyone’s spirits up.”

Nightow and Nishiyama also teased new characters, including a mysterious “puppet master.” Nightow praised the voice actor’s performance:
“They’re doing such an incredible job that the whole team had to raise their game to match them,” he said.
“Trigun: Stargaze” at its Core: Love and Peace
When asked what fans should pay attention to most in Stargaze, Watanabe gave the perfect answer:
“One word—love and peace,” he said. “Even in a harsh world, the people of Trigun don’t give up hope. Vash keeps believing in the future. That’s what we want fans to take away.”
Nightow closed the Q&A with heartfelt emotion after watching the first two episodes himself.
“As I read the scripts and saw Episodes 1 and 2, it felt like the staff was presenting me with a bright light,” he said. “They said, ‘This is our Trigun.’ And in that moment, I rediscovered my own creation. It’s a beautiful experience.”
A World Premiere and a Chorus of “Love and Peace!”
With that, the moment had come: the world premiere of Trigun: Stargaze Episodes 1 and 2.
Before the lights dimmed, fans gathered for a massive group photo. Cosplayers rushed to the front, Vashes and Wolfwoods side by side, as the host led one final chant:
“When I say Trigun, you say Stargaze!”
“TRIGUN!”
“STARGAZE!”
And of course, the crowd’s signature farewell:
“LOVE AND PEACE! LOVE AND PEACE!”
It was the perfect ending to a panel that reminded everyone why Trigun endures. Even in the toughest worlds, hope, humor, and heart never die.

Trigun: Stargaze premieres in 2026, closing the Trigun Stampede saga from Studio Orange and creator Yasuhiro Nightow.
