Anime Expo: VIZ Media Announces ‘RWBY’ Volume 10 Greenlit, ‘MAO’ Release Date, and ‘Black Torch’ Updates

VIZ Media closed out Anime Expo 2026 with a massive anime showcase, solidifying its position as the ultimate powerhouse in Japanese pop culture. Held annually over the 4th of July weekend in Los Angeles, Anime Expo is North America’s largest anime convention. Making it the perfect stage for VIZ Media to unveil its highly anticipated upcoming slate.

‘RWBY’ Volume 10 is Officially Greenlit and In Production

In what was arguably the biggest crowd-pleasing moment of the showcase, VIZ Media officially confirmed that RWBY Volume 10 has been greenlit.

Since its debut in 2013, the RWBY franchise has grown into a global phenomenon, tracking over 350 million views across various platforms, with individual episodes averaging more than 7 million views. Fans who have spent over a decade following the journeys of Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang can celebrate knowing that the next official chapter is actively in production under VIZ Media.

The RWBY intellectual property has continually expanded beyond its main series into video games, merchandise, the anime spinoff RWBY: Ice Queendom, and two high-profile Justice League x RWBY crossover films. Volume 10 promises to build on this massive legacy.

Rumiko Takahashi’s ‘MAO’ English Dub Gets Hulu on Disney+ Premiere Date

Supernatural mystery fans won’t have to wait long for the latest animated adaptation from a manga legend. VIZ Media announced that MAO will premiere its English dub on Hulu and Disney+ beginning August 24, 2026.

Created by the legendary Rumiko Takahashi, the iconic mastermind behind timeless hits like Inuyasha, Ranma ½, and Urusei Yatsura, MAO bridges historical fantasy and dark supernatural intrigue. The upcoming streaming release marks a major milestone in bringing Takahashi’s newest hit manga to English-speaking audiences.

‘BLACK TORCH’ English Cast Reveal Behind-the-Scenes Secrets

Following a highly successful Anime Expo premiere for the BLACK TORCH anime, VIZ Media treated fans to an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the adaptation of Tsuyoshi Takaki’s acclaimed manga series.
