Anime Los Angeles 2018 Recap and Photo Gallery

We are starting to feel the post con blues as it has been almost two weeks since Anime Los Angeles 2018. It took place in Ontario, CA at the Ontario Convention Center.  We were pretty impressed by this smaller yet quickly growing con. There was so much cosplay there that it has taken six photo galleries (links below) to post all the awesome cosplay we have encountered. Our final thoughts on Anime Los Angeles are that it was a well organized con. Badge pick up was efficient, cosplay gathering listings, maps and schedule of events were provided and posted throughout the convention center as well as outside the convention center. It was easy to find out where you needed to go. A recent concern for most conventions in the Los Angels area are the security check points and weapon check points. Prop bans can be very disappointing for cosplayers who have worked hard on building cosplay props to go along with their costumes. Security check points can cause long lines. The Ontario Convention center did a great job with moving attendees through the security check points quickly and efficiently, and weapons check seemed reasonable. The con which reached upwards of 11,000 attendees this year had a large number of cosplayers. Notably it seemed as if the cosplayers outnumbered the non costumed attendees. there was non stop programming from 9:00 am-2:00 am. There was almost too much to see in the four days it took place. There were celebrity guests, panels, workshops, gaming, fashion shows, over 18 only programming, tons of artist and exhibitors. More than anything it felt very fan friendly. The atmosphere was enthusiastic and peppy. The fans genuinely seemed to be having a blast. It is definitely a contender for the Temple of Geek 2018 Con of the Year.

Did you attend this con? tell is what you thought in the comments below. Recognize one of the cosplayers? Let us know! Check out our previous four galleries below at the links:
