This weekend, Anime Los Angeles took over the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, California for four days of fun, and celebration of Japanese pop culture. Here is some of the fantastic Anime Los Angeles cosplay we saw this weekend.
Anime Los Angeles was held at the Long Beach Convention Center from January 5-8, 2023. The convention is in its 18th year and hosts an impressive lineup of vendors, artists, cosplay guests, voice actors, and more. Events included a masquerade, a formal dance, cosplay contests and gatherings, after-parties, and karaoke.
Cosplay has grown in popularity over the years. Cosplayers draw inspiration from their favorite anime, movies, televisions shows, comics, video games, or other sources of pop culture, and represent their favorite characters through costumes. As with all anime conventions, cosplayers turned out in full force in Long Beach for all four days of Anime Los Angeles.
One of the most popular anime/manga represented by cosplayers this year at AnimeNYC was Chainsaw Man. The hit manga was adapted into anime that premiered on Crunchyroll on October 12, 2022, with the English dub following shortly after on October 25, 2022.
Other popular anime, including Jujutsu Kaisen, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, My Hero Academia, and more were equally represented at this year’s convention.
You can following Anime Los Angeles on their website for the latest updates about upcoming convention news. Be sure to also follow them on Instagram and Twitter so you never miss an exciting update.
