The Chainsaw Man anime is now streaming on Crunchyroll, and fans are raving about it! Here is our guide for putting together various Chainsaw Man cosplays.

Chainsaw Man Cosplay

Based on the award-winning manga of the same name, Chainsaw Man follows Denji, a teenage boy who lives anything but a normal life. Denji inherits his father’s debt and ends up betrayed and killed. He makes a contract with his pet chainsaw devil, Pochita, and comes back to life as “Chainsaw Man,” a man with a devil’s heart.

Including Denji, the main characters in the anime and manga serve as Public Safety Devil Hunters. Each of them wears the same basic outfit. Public Safety Devil Hunters wear uniforms. Fortunately, the pieces needed for a Chainsaw Man cosplay happen to be clothing items a lot of us already own. These uniforms consist of a white button-up shirt, black tie, and black pants.

The photo above shows Aki and Denji in their Public Safety Devil Hunters uniforms. Aki wears a black suit jacket while Denji does not. Denji also rolls his sleeves up to just above the elbow.

Wigs and Accessories

Once you have the uniform, the rest of the cosplay is dependent on the devil hunter you choose to cosplay. You will just need to figure out wigs and accessories.

Power is a fiend, which means she is a devil who has taken over a human body. She has small, red horns and wears a blue jacket over her uniform. Power also wears her pants rolled or cropped.

Denji has sharp, pointy teeth. Here is a tutorial for how to create the teeth to cosplay Denji. However, it is also perfectly fine to go without the sharp teeth if you choose to do so.

Himeno, Aki, Hirokazu, and Kobeni all wear their uniforms the same way. They each wear the suit jacket. However, each of these devil hunters has a slight variation in the way they present themselves in uniform.

Himeno keeps her jacket open. She also has an eye patch over her right eye. Aki carries a weapon on his back. Kobeni’s hair is held back by two small clips on the left side of her bangs.

Makima is the mysterious woman who is in charge of the Public Safety Devil Extermination Special Division 4. Just like her subordinates, she also wears the Public Safety uniform. She has pink hair that she wears in a braid.

As with most cosplays, the wigs will need some styling. Having hairspray, gel, and crafting scissors will make styling them easier. As with all cosplay, remember to have fun! Cosplay is all about having fun and expressing your love for these characters in your own way.
