Bat and Cat Clothing Makes Cosplay Inspired Fashions!

Bat and Cat Clothing is a brand new clothing company making clothes for the geek girls at heart! Created by Michelle Ramsay in the summer of 2018, her designs are already turning heads. In a recent Instagram post, Michelle talked about what inspired her to create her shop: “I’ve been a cosplayer for 16 years. I’ve always loved the feeling of being my favorite characters and showing off my fandom. For a long time I would make several elaborate costumes for each convention, but over time I started to get burnt out. That was when I started thinking about geek fashion. I loved the idea of wearing cute, fashion forward outfits that still allowed me to show off my fandom. I started off with a few retro designs, like this Wonder Woman dress. I got a lot of positive reaction, which started making me more interested in designing geek fashion than in cosplay. And I had a lot of ideas for things I wasn’t seeing in stores. I didn’t go to fashion school, but I decided that designing geek fashion was what I wanted to do for a living.”

Well we are glad she did decide to make this her living! We took a few of Michelle’s items out for a spin this week and put it to the geek test. We had cosplayer, Alex, model five different pieces from Bat and Cat clothing and paired them with items that were already in her wardrobe.

What we love about it:

The prints! There is such an exciting selection of fandom related items in this shop! There are a lot of print on demand clothing brands out there that allow more access to fandom wear. What sets Bat and Cat Clothing aside and makes them unique is the combination of their selection and the well thought out designs. The designs lay out in a very flattering way. These aren’t graphic designs that are copied and pasted onto each item. These are well thought out and well places. The print is vivid and clear and made to last. According to their website these colors wont fade.

It is made from a Polyester/Spandex knit fabric. The fabric is comfortable and soft. The stretch is really great but we recommended going a size up if you are in between sizes. If it is too tight it looks unflattering in some areas. Check the size chart before ordering to see whats right for you. We did feel like this brand ran a bit on the smaller size. Also be sure to check the length of the garment and it can be short on someone who is taller. Some of the dresses can also be worn from front to back (Dragon Age inspired Archdemon Flare Dress). The leggings are a compression fit and hug in all the right places and suit all body types. We also love that skirt is a little more high-waisted.

Overall we are really excited about this brand. More than anything excited about the wide variety of fandom on display at Bat and Cat clothing! These items are comfortable and stylish enough for your everyday adventures and will be absolutely perfect on the convention floor!
