BoxLunch launches new merchandise line based on Studio Ghibli

Fall season is upon us, and what better way to celebrate than cozying up with comforting Studio Ghibli movies? To help get fans in the spirit, BoxLunch recently launched a new fall merchandise line based on the Japanese animation studio. 

BoxLunch is a specialty retailer that offers a curated collection of licensed and non-licensed merchandise. Every $10 spent on pop culture-themed products (apparel, accessories, home goods, gift and novelty or collectibles) will help provide a meal secured by Feeding America® on behalf of local member food banks, according to BoxLunch’s website.

Studio Ghibli Films

The world-renowned Studio Ghibli is based in Koganei, Tokyo, Japan. Created in June 1985 by legendary directors Isao Takahata and Hayao Miyazaki, it began as a subsidiary of Tokuma Shoten Co., Ltd. There are 24 Studio Ghibli films in total.

Among the films celebrated in the merchandise release include: 

  • Howl’s Moving Castle
  • Kiki’s Delivery Service
  • My Neighbor Totoro
  • Ponyo
  • Princess Mononoke
  • Spirited Away
