Brian Krause

Brian Krause Chats To Temple of Geek Prior To Wizard World Austin

Brian Krause of Charmed

If you are a fan of Charmed, then Brian Krause is no stranger to you. Krause’s Leo Wyatt appeared in 146 episodes as the Charmed One’s Whitelighter and love interest to Holly Marie Comb’s Piper Halliwell. Krause has had a long career in film appearing in many roles over the years. Krause is one of the many guests that will be appearing at this year’s Wizard World in Austin Texas. Temple of Geek had the opportunity to ask Krause a few questions about his time on Charmed, the con scene, and more.

An interview with a Whitelighter

(Danniel Slade) You were Richard Lestrange in Return to the Blue Lagoon. What was it like filming for that role?

(Brian Krause) Blue Lagoon was an amazing experience. I was on the island for a month training to be “island boy” as the locals called me. Life changing experience. I think everyone should go to Fiji at some point in their life.

(DS) When you started on Charmed, did you think that the show was going to be as big as it was?

(BK) I had no idea what would happen with Charmed. Although with the girls being stars individually before the show started I knew that it was going to have a very good chance to do well.

(DS) What was a typical day like on the set of Charmed?

(BK) Typical day for me on set? Show up. Do the lines. Hit my trailer. Read the paper.  I tried to stay out of the way and make sure I did the best work possible to try and stay on the show. It was a light set with tons of laughter.  It was like being with family.

(DS) The new Charmed series is getting ready to debut on the CW. Do you know if any of the original cast will make an appearance or have a cameo?

(BK) I have no idea if any of us will make an appearance in the new show.  Nobody has asked me yet.

(DS) Why do you think Charmed had such staying power?

(BK) I think Charmed had staying power because of the women who were heading the show.  All amazingly talented. Combine that with the storyline. You can be different and overcome all odds if you make the right choices and stick together.  It was different at the time and fun.

(DS) What is it like being a part of a pop culture hit such as Charmed?

(BK) Being a part of it is a blessing and has changed my career and life. I had no idea Leo would resonate with so many fans. I am grateful everyday.

(DS) What has it been like for you doing the con circuit and meeting fans?

(BK) Doing cons and meeting fans has been one of the greatest experiences of the the entire process. To hear the stories of how Charmed affected someone’s life.  Helped them through a tough time and to be thanked for being a part of it. Pulls on the heart strings every time. It inspires me to keep pushing toward my goals and believe that I have the ability to entertain. Without the fans.  I have nothing. Wizard World puts on a fantastic show and has a very family friendly vibe. Again, blessed to be a part of it and eternally grateful. I love meeting fans at the cons and sharing stories and having a laugh and even a cry sometimes.
