CosLifeHAQ | Episode 003 | Social Media: Instagram Focus

Welcome to the CosLife HAQ podcast.  Hosted by Alexandra Kot, a recent addition to the SoCal cosplay community, this is where questions are asked about cosplay, life, and the lifestyles grown within the relationship of both life and cosplay.  Some questions might seem simple (or anxiety inducing) to some, but when asked honestly, the answers can provide the perspective and insight to create a more positive and welcoming community. Grow the community and yourself by joining the conversation!  Join topic specific guests as they discuss honestly ask questions about facets of the cosplay community and its members. The CosLifeHAQ is released on Tuesday and each episode can be downloaded via iTunes, Stitcher, and Google Play.

ON THIS EPISODE

In this episode Alexandra chats with Lacey and Crystal, two Southern California cosplayers, about the different types of cosplay Instagram accounts that they use for cosplay.  There’s also discussion about basic topics in social media, including how cosplayers can use Instagram in order to market themselves and connect with fans, photographers, and other cosplayers.   We top level cover engagement and the algorithm, shadow banning, and how to protect yourself on social media.

Crystal is a California native from the Inland Empire. Crystal loves all things Harry Potter, Disney, Star Wars, and Lord of The Rings! You can catch Crystal talking for hours about her fandom. You can find her at local Southern California Conventions or Disneyland as a photographer!
