WonderCon Anaheim 2019 will be held March 29–31 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA. AOne of the coolest things you will at WonderCon is some of the fantastic cosplay on display! This weekend will feature a slew of fan organized cosplay meetups and we have the list for you!

X-Men Gathering for Marvel Becoming

We’re excited to announce Marvel Becoming will be coming to WonderCon and looking to film at X-Men gathering on Friday, March 29th at 1 pm at the South Terrace of the Anaheim Convention Center! We’re looking for all those amazing Marvel Cosplayers with X-Men costumes to join us for this event. Plus, other Marvel characters are welcome. So hopefully we see you all there! Whether you’re a costumed participant, photographer or just an onlooker, you will need convention credentials for this event. As this activity is for Marvel, should you wish to participate, please be prepared to sign media release paperwork. This will take place on the South Terrace which is accessible via the second floor on the Marriott side of the convention center. Please be mindful of the show’s costume props policy, https://www.comic-con.org/wca/convention-policies. No functional weapons are allowed at WonderCon Anaheim. Simulated or costume weapons are allowed as a part of your costume, subject to prior approval by security and compliance with the following: All costume weapons must be inspected at one of the Costume Props Check Desks.

• All costume weapons must conform to state and federal law.
• Projectile costume weapons must be rendered inoperable.
• Functional (real) arrows must have their tips removed and be bundled and zip-tied to a quiver.
• Costume swords must be tied to your costume in such a way that they can’t be drawn.
• After each person’s costume weapon has been checked, it will be tagged by security, and you will be given a wristband to wear to designate that your weapons have been checked.
• Security will escort you to the security station for inspection if your costume weapon is not tagged.

If you do not want to have your costume weapons inspected or tagged, or if you are not willing to comply with these policies, please do not bring your costume weapons to WonderCon Anaheim.

Note from Organizer: At the fountain in front of the Anaheim Convention Center, we will gather for a group photo shoot of Cosplayers and photographers who are currently or have served with the United States Military, The Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, and the Air Force.

The suggestion was brought up by retired Lt. Colonel Alfredo Garcia Jr USAF, about doing a Cosplayer Veteran Group Shoot at WonderCon 2019 and he reached out to this civilian to set it up.

To be able to go up on the steps of the fountain, you have had to serve in the military. But the event is open to anyone who which to express their gratitude to the men and women who serve both our country and our fandom.

The location will be at the fountain in front of the convention on Saturday, March 30. The time will be determined as we get closer to the convention to coincide with some of the other group shoots that are happening on that day.

Please share this post with any veterans who will be cosplaying or photographing on Saturday of Wondercon.

Note from Organizer: Are you cosplaying as a character in the Smash Bros Universe or just a general Nintendo character that isn’t welcome in the Smash Bros universe (Waluigi)?
