Nerdbot is hosting their first Anime Las Vegas! On April 22nd and 23rd, Anime Las Vegas will head to the Expo at World Market Center for an epic, two-day anime convention. Among the many things to do over this weekend, there will be fun events for those who are cosplaying at Anime Las Vegas.
Cosplaying at Anime Las Vegas
Cosplay, or “costume play,” is a creative way for convention attendees to express their love and appreciation for their favorite characters. It is in no way required, but for most anime convention attendees, cosplaying makes the experience more exciting.
Anime Las Vegas will have fan-run and organized cosplay meetups happening on both days of the convention. If you would like to submit a meetup and have it posted on the Anime Las Vegas website and schedule, then you can do so here.
Here are the meetups for Saturday, April 22nd:
- 1PM: Naruto
- 2PM: Digimon
- 2PM: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure
- 3PM: CoSlay group meetup
- 3PM: One Piece
- 4:30PM: Dragon Ball
Here are the meetups for Sunday, April 23rd:
- 1PM: Demon Slayer
- 2PM: Dragon Ball Z
- 3:30PM: My Hero Academia
- 5PM: Naruto
Cosplay Contests
Anime Las Vegas will have two cosplay contests. One is for cosplayers 16 years old and older, while the other is for cosplayers 15 years old and younger. The adult cosplay contest is on Saturday the 22nd. Attendees can register for the contest at the convention. Registration will be held on Saturday outside of the main vendor hall between the hours of 10:00AM to 3:00PM. The contest begins at 5:00PM.
On Sunday the 23rd, those who are young enough for the children’s cosplay contest can register at the Kids Can Cosplay space on the same day. Registration will take place between 10:00AM and 3:00PM, and the contest will start at 4:00PM.
The top three winners of the cosplay contests will receive trophies as well as tickets to next year’s Anime Las Vegas.
As with any convention, please be sure to check out Anime Las Vegas’s prop policy before bringing anything. If anything is deemed dangerous by the convention staff or the Expo security, then attendees will not be allowed to bring the prop inside.
Tickets for the convention are still available! Follow Anime Las Vegas on social media for more information.
