After a long three-year hiatus, San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) finally returned! Funko celebrated the return to SDCC by creating an entire neighborhood on the exhibit floor called “Funkoville.” While visiting “Funkoville,” we spoke with Andrew Perlmutter, CEO of Funko Inc, CCO Brian Mariotti, and founder Mike Becker about what it’s been like returning to SDCC and the future of Funko.
Funkoville at San Diego Comic-Con:
“Funkoville” gave fans the opportunity to immerse themselves in the remarkable Funko neighborhood, featuring a movie theater, grocery store, diner, Loungefly boutique, and Mondo store.
There was a Mayor of Funkoville greeting fans as they entered the Funkoville area, a giant Squid Game Funko Photo opp, and plenty of chances to pick up Funko, Loungefly, and Mondo Merch.

Funko Hall H Panel
Hall H panels are some of the most exciting events happening at SDCC. This year, Funko hosted a HALL H panel with celebrity guests Rosario Dawson, Simu Liu, and William Zabka. During Funko’s Hall H, Pop! Talk panel at San Diego Comic-Con, the company announced its first-ever video game with Jon Burton’s 10:10 Games. Composed of some of the best talents in the industry, including multi-award-winning designers and developers, the first game will be a multi-console AAA title with major 3rd party studio integration.
“Creating iconic products that emotionally connect fans to their favorite fandoms is critical to each product portfolio decision,” said Andrew Perlmutter, CEO of Funko. “By partnering with 10:10 Games and utilizing the best creators in the business, we will have the talent to deliver games that reflect Funko’s unique look and feel across its lines and varied products.”
Funko and 10:10 Games stated that they will focus on developing AAA content for current and next-gen consoles. They will also have them available for PC with the still-untitled release. At the panel, the executive team shared that this first game, in addition to being an action platformer, will have major third-party studio integration and is expected to have a “T” for teen rating.
