Halloween masks and leggings spice up spooky season

Halloween masks and leggings from Fun.com make spicing up your seasonal wardrobe easy. The leggings, which feature attention-grabbing, slightly spooky graphics, are a playful costume element to wear to a party or trick-or-treating. Face masks are still very much a part of daily life, so it could be fun to add a few Halloween-themed designs to your mask rotation.

Fun.com specializes in licensed, exclusively pop culture-themed products. They are best known for their Halloween costumes, festive Christmas sweaters, and items that “tread the line between colorful and classic, tacky and wacky,” according to their website.

Temple of Geek Chic recently got into the spooky spirit for a photo shoot featuring the brand’s leggings and masks, modeled by Beatrice (@suprbee), Stephanie (@thethriftnerd), Monica (@thisdorkynerd), and Lavender (@lavendervroman). Here’s our review.

Tentacle Leggings

Release the Kraken! If you’re planning a pirate-themed Halloween costume, then these crimson leggings would make an unexpected addition to your outfit. Wrapped in a coiling tentacle pattern, they are probably the creepiest of the three designs we sampled. They give off major octopus/sea monster/giant squid/seafaring vibes.

Bionic Leggings

In a sci-fi mood this season? Instead of suiting up in a full set of Stormtrooper or cyborg armor, pull on these leggings for a similar, but much easier and more comfortable, effect. Add a leather jacket and helmet from your favorite science-fiction fandom and you’re ready to go. We like the weathered, realistic look and details of these leggings, which feature a slightly different graphic on the back.

Sugar Skull Leggings

For a less ghoulish Halloween look, go with these fanciful Sugar Skull Leggings. The stylized bones with swirling red and blue embellishments create a cute skeleton effect. The spider web pattern at the hip is a nice touch. Throw on a red or black corset top, sugar skull makeup and some flowers in your hair and you’ve got an easy, vibrant costume.

What we thought about the leggings

Made of smooth, shiny polyester/spandex with playful, eerie printed graphics, these leggings aren’t the highest quality. However, they could be a fun part of your Halloween costume. You probably wouldn’t want to wear them as a fashion statement every day, but there are definite cosplay possibilities here.

These Fun.com exclusives are supposedly “one size fits most” with a range of 90 to 180 lbs. However, if you’re on the shorter, less curvy side, they can make for a baggier fit and wrinkle around the knees and ankles. They seem designed to fit taller people who wear a size large and up.

The leggings don’t offer much compression or support in the tummy or bottom area. Both Stephanie and Beatrice said they wished the waist was more stretchy and sturdy. The leggings tend to slip down, which means the models had to constantly hike them up for a comfortable fit.

Pumpkins Sublimated Face Mask for Adults

This spoopy pumpkin pattern, featuring quirky, little jack-o-lanterns surrounded by creeping green vines, will brighten up your wardrobe all through October.

Adult Skeletons Pattern Sublimated Face Mask

Skeletons, bones, and grinning skulls arranged in geometric patterns create a cool kaleidoscopic effect. This mask is perfect for Halloween events or to go with your creepy costume.

What we thought about the masks

The distinctive designs of these masks are ideal for fans of everything horror, gothic, and Halloween. We especially like the soft, suede-like feel of the polyester-velour fabric on the outside. They’re contoured to comfortably fit your nose and chin.

The masks are labeled as “one size fits most adults.” They were a bit too big for both of our models, but they were able to tie the elastic straps to adjust the fit. The straps are thin, which might not make for the most comfortable fit if you’re planning to wear these masks for awhile.

Masks and leggings overall

Fun.com’s Halloween masks and leggings are a novel, affordable, and convenient element to add to a costume or cosplay.

Keep in mind the leggings won’t fit everyone perfectly. If you aren’t tall and curvy, then you may have to make do with a looser fit. They aren’t super comfy or supportive, but wearing them for a few hours is doable.

The face masks are a great addition to your mask stash if you’re looking for designs that are a little different, whether for Halloween or year round.

Fun.com also has the face masks we reviewed in kids’ size. There are other Halloween patterns available, including monsters, a black cat, and pirates.

The brand also offers a few other Halloween patterned leggings, including skeletons and skulls. There are a variety of leggings on the website, including Christmas, sports teams, DC Comics patterns, and fun and silly prints.

Fun.com is a great go-to for Halloween fashion in general, including costumes and “ugly sweaters.” To check out all the brand’s offerings, visit their website.
