How to Break into the World of Manga, Anime, and Webtoons

Los Angeles Comic Con is right around the corner! The convention will take place December 2-4 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Attendees can expect special guests, autograph opportunities, a cosplay contest, panels, and more throughout the weekend. Among the panels being offered for guests to attend is one hosted by yours truly, titled “How to Break into the World of Manga, Anime, and Webtoons.”

How to Break into the World of Manga, Anime, and Webtoons

“How to Break into the World of Manga, Anime, and Webtoons” is a creator-centered panel discussing the ins and outs of how to create your own manga, anime, or webtoon. Each panelist will provide attendees with insight from their own experiences in the creation process. The panel will be held on Sunday, December 4th at 4:00 PM in panel room 304 ABC.

Have you ever wanted to dive into your fandom and create your own manga, anime or webtoon, but have no idea where to start? In this panel, Maddie Morrow (Chief Creative Officer at Temple of Geek) sits down with Dylan Telano (founder of Voyce.Me), Karrigan Taylor (renowned cosplayer and manga author) and Brandon Chen (best-selling author and content creator known as The Inspired Author) to discuss the steps needed to bring your idea to life, and ways to monetize it in the process.

Meet the Panelists

Dylan Telano is the CEO and founder of the English original manga/webcomic/webnovel platform, VoyceMe Inc. Dylan has worked with different types of creators across multiple genres of stories. He will be able to use his expertise working with creators to delve into the ins and outs of different aspects of story creation.

Karrigan Taylor is a professional cosplayer as well as a published manga author. Karrigan is currently working on project called “Sunshine Café,” a slice-of-life, romantic comedy that is published weekly on VoyceMe. She can provide attendees with the knowledge of breaking into the world of manga through her story creation as well as what it’s like to be published on a platform such as VoyceMe.

Brandon Chen is a content creator who has published multiple manga, webtoons, novels, and games. Brandon offers manga writing and creation classes, and currently has manga and webtoons of differing genres across multiple platforms available for audiences to read. He has many years of experience with content creation and storytelling that will allow the audience to better understand how they can also bring their stories to life.
