NERDBOT hosted their fourth annual Anime Pasadena over the weekend of November 19th and 20th. This year, there was an incredible voice actor guest list. Among those voice actors was Brian Beacock. We spoke with Brian about his voice acting experiences.

Interview with Brian Beacock

Brian Beacock is a voice actor who has voiced a number of anime characters. Among those characters include Takato Matsuki from Digimon, Yumichika Ayasegawa from Bleach, Monokuma from Danganronpa, and Ryuunosuke Akutagawa from Bungo Stray Dogs.

With the return of Bleach, we asked Brian what it was like to return to his role of Yumichika after so many years. He said:

“It was one of the first shows I ever did. It was 2004 that we started that, so 18 years ago. So I was really excited to revisit one of the characters that kind of like, shaped my career, you know. I remember getting the role of Yumichika. I was so excited because he was cool. I had been a Digimon. I had been Takato. I had been all  these weird little, fun characters, and now I got this cool guy who wore cool clothes and had weird hair…he was just a really hip, hip character.”

Bungo Stray Dogs season 4 is coming in January. We asked Brian if there was anything he was hoping to see animated in the new season. His answer was perfect:

“I’m not going to say anything, alright? But I’ll just say that I hope chapter 88 and beyond is animated. And I hope everyone is happy. Let’s just say that.”
