The word anime is the Japanese term for animation, which means all forms of animated media. Anime is typically aimed at adults but there are also anime that is suitable for children. The genres within anime mirror the genres we would likely see in regular televisions series. There are anime shows about science fiction, romance, sports, murder mysteries, horror and much much more.
