Warner Bros. released the teaser to their highly anticipated Joker origin movie on Wednesday and it is unlike anything we have seen. This is not the gangster Joker from Suicide Squad, this is something much more sinister. Take a look at the Joker teaser trailer for yourself.
In Joker, it appears that director Todd Phillips is going to give fans a new take on the Joker’s beginnings. The film stars Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck, who tries to find work as a clown but spirals into something darker.
The film is being described by Phillips as a tragedy. This new film will be a stand-alone film and will be separate from the DC Extended Universe. This film is being touted as one of DC’s darkest film yet, so it makes sense that it is not part of the DCEU’s more upbeat atmosphere.
