LA Comic Con

LA Comic Con Tickets on Sale

Tickets are on sale for the 8th annual LA Comic Con, which will be at the Los Angeles Convention Center (1201 S. Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, CA 90015) from October 26–28, 2018.

Even though that seems awhile off, it has sold out in past years, and better safe than Instagram jealous come October. If you’re having a post-con comedown from SDCC like we are, a failsafe way to beat those blues is penning the next con on the calendar.

Previously Stan Lee’s Comic Con (and before that Comikaze), this year it is LA Comic Con, following some controversy about the initially proposed name, Beyond Fest Expo LA. The name change, according to the website, is due to an amicable split with POW!. It’s the same folks running it, who proclaim “Long live Stan Lee now and forever!” and it promises the same con ethos.

The name change is accompanied by rebranding: a cute, cartoon octopus bobbing off the coast of a Los Angeles skyline. A salute to the old logo from Stan Lee’s Comic Con? Or a visual pun on the designated hashtag for the eighth con, #octoversary? Tell us what you think.

You can buy tickets (and they offer early bird pricing!) on the official website or at Showclix.

Parking at the convention center is $20, but the Metro is also a good option with a stop across the street from the convention center (7th Street/Metro Center Station, Red and Purple lines). It’s inexpensive, and comes with the benefit of not having to deal with the horrors that can be LA traffic.

Vendors, guests, panels, and exhibits have yet to be announced, but the website confirms that the con will host a giant free indoor trick-or-treat event. The near-Halloween date will hopefully make cosplay watching (and wearing) even more fun than usual.
