Long Beach Comic Con Pre-Con Rundown

Long Beach Comic Con is coming up!!! I’m excited and I know that you are too. So what’s going down in Long Beach for the Long Beach Comic Con? Who’s gonna be there? What are all the cool things to look out for? Fear not! Temple of Geek has the answers you crave!!!

Guest List

I’ve always had a great time at the Long Beach Comic Con. This is mostly due to the pretty awesome guest list. Celebrities and notable cosplayers alike will be in attendance signing autographs and taking pictures. Click here for a list of the guests confirmed so far.  Notable celebrity guests include Kevin Eastman, co-creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Also prominent cosplayer Ivy Doomkitty will also be in attendance at the Long Beach Comic Con. Kristian Nairn, who most of you know better as Hodor, will also be in the building. I can’t be more excited about Kristian Nairn.

Artist Alley

It wouldn’t be a con without an Artist Alley now would it? Long Beach Comic Con, this year, is busting out a HUGE portion of the con floor dedicated to artist alley. You can check out the complete floor plan here and see exactly what I mean. Artist Alley is alsways one fo my favorite parts of comic conventions because I’m a big patron for the independent arts. Among the amazing artists that will be in the Long Beach Comic Con Artist Alley are The Madd Artist (@themaddartist88 on Instagram) and Gigi Rockets (@gigirockets on Instagram). Head on down to the huge Artist Alley and get yourself and your friends some awesome, original, independent art.

Cosplay

What’s a con without cosplay? I know this writer will be in attendance dressed up, looking awesome. Will you? I hope so, because there’s so much to do this weekend if you’re into cosplay. There will be several fandom meetups. Also there will be several cosplay photographers, both amateur and professional walking the grounds who can’t wait for you to pose for them.

It’s important to also point out that COSPLAY IS NOT CONSENT. Be courteous, be polite and most importantly don’t be a creep. Ask a cosplayer to take their photo and more times than not you’ll be just fine to do so. Just don’t cross any boundaries.

Cosplay at the Long Beach Comic Con, like any other con, is sure to be an amazing experience. I look forward to seeing all the amazing cosplays out there.

Panels

Currently a list of all the panels at Long Beach Comic Con isn’t available.

However over 100 different panels are offered for attendees, covering topics ranging from comics to manga, animation to movies, and from cosplay to exploring space itself. Experts in these subjects divulge behind-the-scenes information and give answers to questions asked!

From feature length to shorts, fan films are selected and screened at the Long Beach Comic shows. GeekFest Film Fest is one of the main participants which hosts educational panels that tie in, and wraps up with an Awards Ceremony on Sunday.
